Susie is a partner in McDowell Purcell’s (now Fieldfisher Ireland) Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She deals with a variety of commercial disputes representing corporates, regulatory bodies, insolvency office holders and all of the key financial institutions operating in Ireland. She regularly appears in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court but also has a keen interest in mediation.

Susie has significant experience in financial services disputes include high value recoveries, fraud, priority of claims, rectification of security and a range of banking related litigation, advising on and implementing strategies for lenders where possible.

Susie’s practice includes contractual and tortious disputes, property based litigation, and professional negligence actions across a broad range of professional advisers including, accountants, solicitors, architects and engineers. She has specialist experience in dealing with construction, property and landlord and tenant disputes including those arising from the service of schedules of dilapidations post termination of commercial leases. This experience is underpinned by Susie having spent a number of years in real estate practice before transitioning to commercial litigation.


Susie’s experience includes:

  • Regularly acting in injunction proceedings on behalf of receivers to ultimately secure vacant possession of various commercial properties.
  • Routinely advising a prominent financial institution in respect of professional negligence claims against solicitors, including breach of undertaking, breach of contract, and breach of duty of care.
  • Advising a developer in a multi-party construction dispute in relation to alleged defects in construction.
  • Defending a high profile specific performance action on behalf of a tenant where the landlord claimed an agreement to lease was in place.
  • Acting for insolvency office holders, advising on their powers and duties in resolving disputes, and where necessary, seeking redress through the Courts.
