As Head of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial Department, Feilim advises commercial clients on all aspects of their business arrangements. Feilim has extensive experience in commercial contracts, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, corporate governance, M&A transactions, venture capital transactions and banking arrangements. He regularly advises clients, including private, public and semi-state entities, on corporate governance issues. In particular, Feilim has advised board directors, and the relevant companies themselves, in relation to directors’ fiduciary duties and related legal matters. Feilim also regularly advises the firm’s public and regulatory clients on outsourcing arrangements, arrangements with suppliers, intellectual property licensing and protection, and contracts related to the relevant body fulfilling its statutory functions.

Feilim also leads the Renewable Energy team at Fieldfisher. He has extensive expertise advising renewable energy industry participants on a wide range of issues including:

  • project finance and construction
  • regulatory issues
  • power purchase / offtake arrangements
  • project sales and acquisitions
  • joint venture arrangements

Feilim’s expertise in renewable energy extends to wind, solar, CHP, hydroelectric and anaerobic digestion developments. Feilim has been a Council Member of the Irish Wind Energy Association since 2003.


Feilim’s experience includes:

  • Extensive experience in M&A transactions, shareholder arrangements, joint ventures, venture capital transaction and banking arrangements.
  • Advising clients in the renewable energy sector, particularly in the areas of wind energy and biomass. Most recently advised on the project finance and construction of the following wind projects: Scartaglen, Carrickallen, Tullynamoyle and Grady Joinery.
  • In the banking sector, Feilim advises a number of banks on their commercial lending arrangements and on all aspects of taking security over corporate assets.

    Banking and Finance: The team is active in real estate and development finance, project finance, and corporate lending, and has particular expertise in the renewable energy sector. Recent highlights include Feilim O’Caoimh acting for Galetech Group on the €36m project financing of a wind farm in Co Cavan.

    Real Estate: The Firm’s practice specialises in the food and drink, retail, energy and real estate sectors, among others. Feilim O’Caoimh leads the team.

    Energy and Natural Resources: The team acts for developers, financiers and operators of wind farms. Department head Feilim O’Caoimh has been highly active on the project financing side.
